Urban space/LOOP family

Refreshing and vibrant project situated in Boston, USA
“Phillips Square is a pop-up tactical plaza that brings much needed open space to the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston.  This plaza reclaims a portion of Harrison Avenue that is overly wide and converts it into a colorful public gathering space. The design is inspired by the traditional style of Chinese painting Shan shui, but decidedly approaches the graphic in a contemporary manner.  Flexible use of the space is important; therefore, a mixture of furnishings was included that allowed individual use, small groups, and outdoor dining. The plaza has become a new fresh and vibrant entrance to Chinatown that will benefit local businesses and residents. It is supported by partnerships with the City of Boston, Chinatown Main Streets and Cresset Harrison LLC.”
