Lighttubes in Saudi Arabia

Solar power light / lighttubes

Lighttubes are lighting units of graceful, slender stems, designed for The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Designed by Snøhetta from Norway - who wanted to use grand scale solar lighting for this project - and tecnically developed by out-sider, adapted to local seasons and light conditions. Lighttubes were a pioneer project, that had great impact on out-sider’s work with solar powered urban lighting.
