The global Danish company, Asetek, which designs, develops, and sells liquid-based cooling solutions for gaming PCs and data centers, has built a new futuristic headquarters in Aalborg. A brand-new office for 220 employees and a landmark for Aalborg in the south. In connection with the construction, general contractor TL Byg wanted to create an outdoor space where employees could gather during lunch breaks and for outdoor meetings. The result was a multi-level courtyard. To find the right outdoor furniture for the courtyard, TL Byg contacted Palle Poulsen from PP Consult, who, with many years of experience working with architects and contractors, helped identify the ideal outdoor furniture. The choice landed on out-sider’s custom-designed Plateau Picnic Round tables.

It was important not only to choose furniture that was functional but also contributed to the aesthetics of the courtyard.
To ensure the furniture perfectly matched the surrounding architectural elements, the frames of the Plateau Picnic Round tables were custom-colored in black, and the tabletops were designed with out-sider’s signature cave surface, which is both durable and visually appealing.
“Of course, the furniture needed to be functional, but aesthetics were also of great importance. When building a new and modern headquarters, you can’t just place a few tables and chairs. The furniture had to fit seamlessly with the architecture and courtyard environment,” emphasizes Palle Poulsen.
