ORB LAND

The idea bank consists of products that have not yet been put into production or are custom made.

More than just a bench. We were asked to create a bench to distance pedestrians from a set of low-hanging window boxes, preventing their hard corners from causing injury. Furthermore we sought a formal kinship to ORB Sea, which in no way resemble benches.
Financial means were limited, so it was natural to aim for some kind of recycling in order to skip a link in the chain of production. The question was not so much what we could have as what we could find. out-sider already had a mould for the ORB, which was suitable for modification. Bisgaard Landskab designed a new three-legged supporting steel frame, like a stool adjustable to accommodate the incline of the ramp.
The frame features a discreetly galvanized finish, while the subtle purple colour of the polyethylene seat compliments the grey and black of ORB Land.
