Concrete

Concrete has a range of properties that make it a highly advantageous material for urban furniture. Its smooth surface and the possibility of color and form offer freedom for a variety of designs. Concrete furniture is created to last for generations. We’re talking about a lifespan of up to half a century. This robustness is due to being produced in wet concrete, which is reinforced with embedded reinforcement

Process

Concrete takes shape through customized molds made of materials like wood, fiberglass, or rubber, depending on the desired surface texture. Rubber molds ensure a uniform and glossy surface. After the concrete is poured into the mold, it undergoes vibrations to condense the material. Subsequently, it undergoes a 24-hour drying process before it can be released. To achieve maximum strength, reinforcement is incorporated within the concrete during casting. The finished casting then requires approximately a month to cure fully, reaching its maximum strength and developing its distinctive durability.

If color is desired, pigment is mixed into the material before the actual casting process begins

Maintenance

Maintenance of the material is simple. The material is designed to withstand the effects of time and requires minimal care to preserve its optimal condition. The fine structure of quartz sand reduces openings and seals the surface, making it resistant to moisture and minimizing the risk of frost cracks. Impregnation can be chosen to fully seal the concrete with an effective period of 5 years. It does not fade in the sun and is unaffected by wind and weather, ensuring that the color and surface of the material remain intact. Although small cracks may occur over time, it is important to note that these do not compromise the strength of the material. Additionally, it can be easily repaired with concrete plaster, ensuring the integrity of the material remains intact. Furthermore, with its long lifespan and recyclable nature, our material is a sustainable solution that minimizes the need for replacement and reduces environmental impact
