Amager Chair
Chair with a logo for urban spacesThe Amager Chair
The Amager Chair was originally created as part of a project on Prags Boulevard, a neighborhood revitalization initiative at Amager where the boulevard had been neglected for years. Inspired by the site’s raw and robust character, a narrow and long park was developed.
Resident involvement and user dialogue were pivotal in the process. The outcome was an active and verdant boulevard with activity zones and 700 freestanding Amager Chairs, which can be arranged and moved around the boulevard as needed.
The project was also implemented in Nørre Snede, where it played a significant role in an Urban Renewal project that garnered awards and received much acclaim. In 2011, the project won the award for the Best Municipal Citizen Dialogue in Denmark at KL’s Communication Day
